Subtle, it's about the landscape, the history of it. The stones (and sheep) are elements in a bigger picture.

I like this picture very much, itís combination of hard foreground and soft hillsides, the spatial depth of the composition and the range of mono tones.

It's a really hard place to photograph well - most people go for the standard shot, for which they need the standard weather...

Your usual sideways glance at the world: and well worth it.

Keep doing "your usual sideways glance at the world" for me it works so well, maybe I should try it.

Diversity is strength, Dougie - I love your full-frontal approach to beauty as well.

But who's to say that we wouldn't all benefit a bit by trying out each other's approaches and techniques, occasionally?

(Those who have seen many of my landscapes may, of course, have good reason to differ...)

You need to get closer to those sheep before they notice you and panic, Alan. That stone circle own't contain them unless there is an invisible force-field we cannot see.

Photographically speaking, not too shoddy at all, mate.

I'm quite sure that many member has taken a sideways glance at some of you images John.
Whether it's straight on or sideways it's the viewing and the enjoyment that hopefully they all bring.

Photography is a wide and diverse enjoyment which I thought I was supporting.
