Stone Faced

By dalischone
I was amazed to find this face and others today when out in Galloway Forest Park. The faces were carved into stone around an old sheep pen in the middle of nowhere. Never seen anything like it so took a few shots and wanted to share.

Thanks for looking.

Nice image Tracy, like the neutral tones. Looks like the stone figures on Easter Island?

Lovely shot and great angle to make it special. I too thought of Easter Island at a first glance.

You have chosen an unusual angle for this one Tracy, it works very well indeed.

'Tis very reminiscent of those Easter Iskland statues.

Thanks for your comments Gwyn, found these really strange and eerie. I might be posting a couple more as the others are all different.

Thanks again Ken and I really like your mod, wish I was as steady handed!

I actually let the picture make the selection. Opened channels and copied red channel and made that into selection.
Glad you liked it.

Thanks for your comment Don, it's actually just the size of a normal rock, although in this shot it looks gigantic! I'm uploading another one today and it probably shows the size better, weird looking things though!

Love the angle and composition.
It's amazing you just came across these sculptures in Galloway. I was driving near Moniaive[?] the other day and saw what looked like an Andy Galsworthy perched on a hillock by the road. I was really suprised!

Thanks Simon for your comments, know Moniaive well! There are some beautiful works of art scattered all over the place in this area, it's good to see.
