whlst out driving in february i noticed this sky, so i pulled over to take it, i looked for some thing to fill the foreground, and the only thing there was was a line of bushes nd these street lights. so i included them.

Even though youve set the WB to sunny, it appears very blue, which is odd.

Could be wrong, loaded mod thats a bit less blue.

Doesn't really work for me. A heavy, but not too unusual sky and some street furniture. For me, I fear, you cannot rally improve this due to a lack of interesting content.

What I like, Donald, is that you found something you wanted to photograph (the sky) and set about finding something as foreground interest. That you did.
It may not be the most dynamic image on the site, but it's the thought behind it that's important.

Photographers ( or at least, landscape photographers ) often bang on about light being "everything." Well, maybe, though personally I think it's a bit more complicated than that. But we don't photograph light... we can't... we photograph things that reflect or refract light.

I've many times, over the years, been in exactly the same situation you found yourself in there... great sky, but nothing to put under it. That can be deeply frustrating. You can have the greatest light ever, but if you can't find a composition that's going to do justice to it, then you may as well not bother. There's simply no point, and you just have to put it down to experience.
So, full marks for trying, and maybe better luck next time... or the time after that... or the time after that... Wink

Or, alternatively, if you like playing in processing, take the sky with no foreground interest, and combine with a silhouette of your choice later on...
