Strange Cloud

By ghibby
Long time since I was last here so hi to all. This was shot in Iceland back in September last year. It was taken on the Kjolur Route on road F35 in the interior of Iceland. The clouds as we drove these roads were quite spectacular and this was the strangest of them all. I believe it is a type of Lenticular cloud.

Not much done to this image just basic RAW processing and some local adjustment to bring out some texture in the foreground rocks.

Exposure 1/250 Sec @ F5.0

Excellent - you can see where the idea of flying saucers came from in this shot.

A great find for a "cloudie" like me. Lenticular indeed, in fact several in a stack.. see here how they form , and here for some more examples.

Could I suggest you brighten the foreground as there's not much detail in it.
