Strangers on the shore.

By franken
Taken at Barry Island on Saturday.

I was there to take in a second world war reenactment which was quite good as the local steam train company also put on a good show.

I only live about half a mile from the area and it's as much as I can do at the moment to be honest.

I was sat on the promenade with my wife when I noticed the family walking into the scene and I included the lamp.

I appear to be taking quite a lot of images from a sat down position these days.Smile

There were a lot more people on the beach than shown here.

Whilst sat there we could hear the lifeguards constantly reminding people on the loudspeaker systems to swim between certain flags as the wind was quite strong the use of inflatable paddling boats were not recommended.

As usual, they were being ignored. A few month ago a 14 year old girl was drowned in the area.

You have such a fine sense of balance and composition. It doesn't matter if you're sitting or standing, as long as you keep shooting....

Siting or standing, the eye is still spot on, Ken.

Superb. A very well observed and composed photography, the inclusion of the lamp post adding a beautiful balance and harmony to the image.

It's amazing how many stupid people there are...I mean the ones ignoring warnings. And then it's boo-hoo-hoo after something happens. Bit late, innit. Sorry...rant over Grin It's just incredible how ubiquitous stupidity is.

NOW THEN...utterly BRILLIANT composition here, Ken. GOOD EYES. I of course wish you didn't have to take pictures mostly sat down...but obviously sitting down doesn't hamper you from taking really good shots.

I wondered about BW with this and downloaded it and split it into RGB channels...and the red one looks really good Smile

The original here looks thoroughly perfect, though.

Awesome image. It tells something about solitude and closeness at the same time.
