Streets of Marrakech

Around the Medina is the main shopping area of Marrakech's old city area. These are typical of the streets around there. Taken to the north side of the Jemaa el-Fnaa, going off to the left in the lead image of my previous upload, where they lead you into the maze of the Souks!

All archive images taken on my 3.2-megapixel compact Nikon Coolpix as Jpegs, and with a good bit of tweaking in Photoshop Elements 14!

I love these markets/souks but you need a guide to save being accosted by every vendor!
We experienced this in Egypt!
We girls are also at the mercy of those horny young vendors!

Agree that it's good to look at old images and videos but I always end up wondering what has happened to the people - are they happy or sad or indeed still with us? Excellent shots Trev.

Delighted to make it 30 Trevor! Wonderful colours and atmosphere as well as a wonderful way to do a spot of armchair travelling. I shall never go to such places as it's too hot; I'm looking forward to cooler weather and some rain! 🥴 🥵 🌨 😀

Brings back memories Trev. Back in 1983 Lesley and I where in Tunis and in the souk. We where with another couple who wanted to buy a small carpet. We ended up in a shop and they bartered for a carpet. In the mean time the owner offered coffee. Then he tried to buy Lesley. We got up to three camels and two horses. Before I realised this was no joke. We left.
