Strictly no papping

By PCarman
Went over to see if i could get some shots of the GOT prequal that's being filmed in my local area ( never a dull moment ) to find all these signs and stewards all over me asking questions .Loads of tents and film crew etc . No matter, it was still good fun seeing what i could get sneakily and seeing all the activity. . Maybe i should have taken a less conspicuous camera. Funny really as iv never watched an episode.

Hmmm...

I don't think there's any legal right to prevent shooting from a public place: but I'm not sure where private land starts in this area...

yes , most of its owned by Lord St Leven a point they were quick to point out while i was stood in the car park ( which he owns ) so i clambered over the wall and walked to the main road and sighted i pay my road tax and council tax with a big smile so technically iv every right to stand here lol. anyway mostly in my head i was thinking this is ace , iv now a story to tell . still got shots but to be honest it was so well guarded i didn't see anyone i recognised so just enjoyed the spectacle.
once shown around the world it'll be great for local business so all good .

It's just a shame that money doesn't just talk, but shouts at us plebs...

This reminds me of when "Braveheart" was being filmed in Glen Nevis (Scotland) and crew tried to stop me driving along a public road, they didn't!!!! About a mile on I did pull in briefly to get a few shots of some American with a mullet standing in front of a few makeshift buildings with cameras all around, but there was a vehicle fast approaching from behind me, so I took off again. The road ends in a small carpark and that's where the "security" caught up with me and demanded I hand my camera over... no way! But I did end up giving them the film out of the camera after a lot of protesting.
I had the last laugh as I had already changed the 35mm film for a new one with nothing on it!!!! So they were exposing an empty one but they thought they had done their job!!!!!
Thanks for the memory.

As a point of law, they were not entitled to demand the film. In a situation like that, call the police...
