Strolling in the rain

By Nobby31
While waiting for the Mountain Bike racers to come up the hill these two walk passed me in the rain and I could not resist but take a photo.

i like the photo in that it defies the rule of thirds

Post processing increased contrast and sharpened

Really nice. I did crop a bit off the right so theyre smack dab in the middle. That "roadway" makes the middle the perfect placement for the walkers.

I tries a mod2, with more space below to see if it made a difference.

General tweaking on brightness and a bit of contrast.

Well done

Simple in it's beauty Nobby.

As soon as I see this it had to be black and white as removing the colour draws you to the subject. Hope you like the mod...

I rather like the drab colours the way they are, because to me that's very typical of a grey, rainy day Smile

The one bit I'm really struggling with personally is the fact that it's two people, and not just the one. Because the person in front is pretty much smack bang in line with the one behind, there's very little for the eye to go on other than the odd bit of different colour brolly, the odd bit of leg and that odd foot to the right of the one behind Grin

So as well as a small crop from the right hand side inwards, and a (minor) tweak in midtone levels, I've cloned evidence of the person in front out completely. To me, now, it's less ambiguous and that 'solitary' figure gives the whole image a different sense of loneliness and isolation.

The colours are muted, rather than drab, and there's enough contrast here.

I see a bit of an edge effect on the left hand side of the figures - did you process a lot?

Well seen, and good use of limited depth of field.

No not a lot of processing unless it is caused from increasing the contrast dudler

Yes, possibly upping hte contrast would do it...
