Stunt double - carousel horse

By onlythepony
Just a portrait of a carousel horse from my travels ... his acting was a bit wooden but I loved the tree mush in the background so couldn't resist a shot !

Hi- I like the figure to ground relationship of this image, it makes the subject stand out. Careful midtone adjustment would have improved the detail in the figures head or a very small amount of fill flash at the time of capture. There is an overal darkness to the image which just needed the black and white points setting correctly on the histogram (level control).

Cheers photowalks4u .... I bought myself a Nikon Speedlight flash and always carry it but very rarely use it ... it's something I need to think about more , also using the histograms - though I am using them more in camera to check shots I don't do so much post production as my monitor isn't the best for viewing slight tone differences ... another thing I need to change or at least calibrate it Smile
Always happy to receive constructive feedback , so thank you Smile
Hi - Just to let you know. The histogram is your pixel ruler so that you can keep track of your brightness levels throughout your workflow - capture, process, output to print or screen. (with a calibrted monitor - LOL).
