Summer Bride

By Mrs_MacG
I had two minutes with the bride before they were to be called in for dinner - Not sure the exposure is quite right - but there is still detail in her face and dress and I like that it looks glowy sunny - Your thoughts always welcome.. x

The composition is good, the colours are nice and they match the summer feeling. Though, as far as exposure is concerned, yes, it is overexposed and this is highly visible when looking at the face of the model. A bit of overexposure worked, in my opinion, with this kind of shot, but when the whole left side of the face gets burnt, it becomes clear that this wasn't deliberately done, but rather a mistake in exposure settings. on the other hand it is true that, the other way round, the model's face would have gone too dark to distinguish any detail if she had turned her face towards the camera. Some different settings of the camera might have made it better, if not, it becomes obvious that the intensity of the natural light and the time of day were not suitable for this posture. How about an approach from the other side of the fence?Smile

I quite like the overexposer it adds to the mood. She should be very pleased. Craking image. Well Done.

It does look glowy sunny but personally speaking, it is over exposed. Not only is one side of her face burnt out but also her dress has lost a lot of detail. I would have reduced the exposure and used a reduced amount of fill flash.
And again personally speaking I don't like the branch on the right cutting through her arm.
