Summer has arrived and the skippers are out

Sorry to you all for barely attending epz. I have been swamped with work and internet at home is only working on the mobile, so I have to wait two minutes for each picture. It is for France I'd wish for one of google's balloons, we are truly at lower 3rd world standards here.Sad

here is - at last- a large skipper enjoying the sun. They have so far been very scarce and I was truly worried. Not a single large blue so far, I made the rounds yesterday, got bogged in the forest, had to call Chris as I had no winch or spade or hilift Blush so it was a looong walk to a house to get a phone...
But at least I got him whilst waiting for rescue.

No large blues for the Big O either!Tongue He had another unproductive trip to Collard Hill in Somerset earlier this week. This is a splendid shot of a skipper on scabious, the details and colours have been superbly recorded. Plenty of skippers on the wing here too
