Summer Side, Lake Tuggeranong, Canberra

By BobinAus
I'm very grateful to those who looked at, voted on or made comment about my picture of dead eucalypts on the Monaro Plains. Thank you all.

From die back to rejuvenation: good rainfall in December has triggered a burst of green growth in the Canberra area. Maybe the rain was no more than a brief reprieve from the drought but this verdant scene is so much more pleasant to behold than dead grass, bare earth and dying trees.

This picture is an HDR blend of three exposures. With Lightroom and Photoshop I've softened the harsh contrast/tone mapping effects that result from the blending process but I have not been able to completely remove the fringes on the sides of the branches in the left foreground. I hope this does not detract from the image too much.

I wish EPZ members all the best for 2019. Thanks for your support in 2018 and for all the delight and inspiration which your photographs give me.
