I was out for a walk at lunchtime, turned round and saw this. So only a camera phone image that's had a touch of vibrance (+13), a little sharpening and a crop from the original image (to the golden mean (ish) ratio, not the rule of thirds).
The dark sky sets the green tones off so well
A bit granular, but very beautiful.
Mathematically, the difference between the Golden Mean and "thirds" is just a matter of precision! Though I'd definitely go with the idea that it's the thirds that are the approximation...
Thanks John. I did do a little bit of noise reduction, but too much made it look odd (you should have seen it beforehand - grain city!) It's a camera phone so I knew there'd be some loss, but I still liked the contrast between the bit of brightness and the dark gathering clouds. I used PS's grid for the golden mean cropping ratio, so whether that's a true representation or not, I don't know? I basically just cropped it around until it felt right
Great sky!! I'm busting to catch a sky like this as I have a beach based set of images I want to do with my new muse!
A very nicely captured image, Tanya - looks like the sort of sky I've seen the last couple of days whilst in Liverpool and Manchester!
I like the green balance here...
a serene pathway..
