summers here 7 Skate ramp

By ZenTog
skate action from the Vans ramp at the ripcurl board masters , love this guys position and the eye contact, they throw themselves very high off the coping and pull moves that are magic

Nice one Paul. Great action which looks very close! Shame about the lens flare! Didn't see any photos of yours in the magazine mate?

nice one, even though I prefer your previous series with blue sky.

we did have blue sky , then 5mins before the 2 hours overdue comp the clouds came over, but shooting into the sun would have bleached it anyway

There is a green mark on the ramp, straight down from the Rip Curl sign. Maybe wrong though.

looking at the bigger picture it may be a stain on the ramp though, you will have to get time off for this event one year and come down and shoot it with me mike

well did have fill in high speed synch flash going on otherwise the skaters were just black blobs against a bright sky, but the tacky little excuse of a lens hood on the 17040mm just doesnt work!!
anyway who said i was a pro skate tog

Spot on action! A blue sky would have been icing, but I know it wasn't possible.
Well done!

I was only kidding Paul. I was down at the Ripcurl event in 2005 I think it was, thought it was a great event, sadly missed it this year due to other comitments.

Great picture, as always.
Wish I got down this year...went down a few years back as a friend of mine was running the Miss Reef 'bikini' competition...

Be good to get down next year and meet up with a few people, if I am not in Oz..
