Sunday Sequence

By woolybill1
We hatched a cunning plan for covering yesterday's Remembrance Day parade. She would face north and I would face south.
With the morning's very strong sun directly in my eyes - where are the grey clouds when they are needed? - I was beset with monstrous flare; no shoe-in for me in next year's calendar, then. But I hope this sequence will appeal.

V1: RSM at work.
V2: Solo march.
V3: Return to position.
V4: Captive audience.
V5: The ones who got away.

Special thanks to Albert (fentiger) for his valued User Award on yesterday's upload.

The open mouth of the RSM is brilliant Bill, it brings memories of the noise and military orders that echo across my memory of covering so many parades and memorials, the voice is so loud in the silence of the crowd before during and just after the Remembrance Day parades.

I think your image has it's place in the Calendar.

Yes, the perfectly timed capture of the Sergeant Major barking his orders makes V1 a winner. The light really adds to these and I particularly like the slices of normal life going on behind the main event.

The rim lighting adds to the atmosphere beautifully. Nice to see Moira featuring in most of the shots too.

Very clever, Bill. Some excellent crops giving strong juxtapositions between the 'players'. No distraction of colour, and the rim lighting isolates the people well. Hard pushed to choose a favourite they are all so good.

I love the flare and the harsh light. Absolutely excellent shots and nothing lost for lack of detail.

I think Moira pulled a dirty trick on your assigning you that direction. I did produce some very unique images, though.

v1 is making me chuckle! The profile of the RSM is priceless and I hope the bystanders weren't deafened. A good selection of images and I see your lady wife in a cameo role.
