Sunrise Magic

By LynneJoyce
Back to 'serious' shots now (well as serious as I ever get) a post inspired by Nathan's comment about his insomnia, something that I have too but that I call creative insomnia because I get up and do something creative. Here we have 16 shots taken on the days when waking ridiculously early allowed me to get all my camera kit ready and get out in time to see the sun rise over Calpe. No sunrise shots from where we live because we live half way down a steep hill and the crag above us masks the sunrise.

There are standard sunrise shots here but I am more fascinated by the effect of the rising sun's light on buildings, rock formations etc so there are plenty of those in here too. Anyway, thank you for looking and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them.

Seriously though this is a lovely collection Lynne. They are all excellent and I dont think

The effect of the light on the buildings is well illustrated in V3 Lynne - the one that really stands out for me.

All of the images would make me want to visit Calpe.

Also love V1 and V2 for composition.
Many thanks for adding your mod today - such an interesting selection to learn from.

What a stunning set of images showing this Meditteranean sunrise, the wonderful warm light is simply glorious. You should have entitled these "Calpe Diem" as you definitely seized the day or Carped the Diem as Rhod Gilbert would say!Grin Many of the epzers' like Lifesnapper would still be tucked up in bed at this time no doubt still hung over from a hard nights partying and session on the Sangria and San Miguel, not you though Lynne you were up and out there to seize your opportunity and boy you most certainly did that!Grin I can't even pick a favourite as we've been really spoiled for choice, just like the guests at the ambassadors ball when the Ferrero Rochers are brought out!Wink

What a wonderful selection of early day shots, capturing the early light so well, and of them all, the architectural ones I particularly like, as the rising sun casts wonderful rich colour over the surfaces.

Ooo...yes yes...I just love that sorta glow on things in Vs 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 14. Even the normalest trees and buildings look so good when bathed in such rich low evening sun, ya?

Apart from those, wonderful light you've captured in all of these, Lynne. 2, 6 and 10 are particularly 'wow'.

Lynne, I salute you for a very fine collection of sunrise images, using not only the sun itself, but all the objects it falls upon.
If I were pushed to pick a favourite, it would be V15, for its wonderous colour, pulling out all the detail, including a sink hole at the bottom of the george - a well timed shot indeed.
I was also interested to learn that pure black does not concern you - many (me included) would try to pull out some detail from the shadows.
Loved them all, Lynne.
