Sunset on Southwold

By cameracat
Hello One and all,

Well I have spent some time perfecting the method used in yesterdays upload....!

Basically This is the result of a 5 frame bracketed shot, That was run through Photomatix Pro 3, To produce one HDR version of all 5 frames....!

Then using Photomatix's Exposure Blending option, I blended the 5 original frames with the one HDR version.....!

That done the resultant image was opened in Photoshop, Levels adjusted, Unsharp mask applied, & a Crop & resize for upload....!

Overall I am quite pleased with the result...Smile

It's an ongoing experiment, So might improve along the way.....Not everyones taste I know, But intersting non the less.....Smile

Hope some of you like it.....!

Cheers Vince

Sounds like a lot of very techincal/complicated manoeuvring but it's a great image, like all the colour

Hi And thanks one and all, As I said HDR's or this creation which I prefer to call a Hybrid HDR, Can produce some interesting shots, Some times it works well......Sometimes not so, Kinda depends on the subject matter, And the original shots used.....!

I'm still not sure just how many frames makes the best HDR or HDR Hybrid......3 sometimes is enough....But so far I have found 5 a better option......Smile

HDR is still in it's infancy to some degree, So I mostly just experiment, Just to see what comes out........! It can be fun, And not as complex as it sounds..........Really....!

I want to try some HDR portraits....Smile But you try getting a model to sit absolutely still for 5 frames, especially in a low light scenario.........Sad Oh! well maybe one day...!

Cheers Vince

Well you got a fair range of tones there Vince.
Not sure about the subject for HDR but it works well, I like the way you held detail in the boat.
