Super Nova Stalker

By hwatt
Castle Stalker, Appin, Scotland

Big image for you since contrast is extreme. I don't mind telling you this was just sheer luck. A sunset of any sort was not predicted, it had just rained and everything was looking just a little bit sullen and unfriendly. For just two to three minutes the sky had a great gash torn through the fabric of dense cloud and the sun went nova and poured light through with rays radiating from the tear and the castle silhouetted under a sultry twilight blue sky. The hackles on the back of my neck stood to attention the experience quite simply electrifying.

Pentax 67 II ,55-100 zoom,Fujichrome Velvia
0.45ND Hard Grad, 0.6ND Soft Grad on side pulled half way across frame to feed light back into right side of image, f/22 at 1/4 Second.

It was luck, but never think it won't happen ever again, because it will. Anyhow, it would not turn out this great without your heart in the right place. You have what it takes to make great things happen, and the proof is right there Smile
