Initially I was going to leave this in my pf for now, but as i only have one more left to post thought it could go up despite my break Sad. This is Clavells tower from Kimmeridge Bay. A long exposure image processed through NIK's colour EFEX pro using a details enhancer filter.

It does look somewhat surreal, but I think it has an attractive quality about it.

I'd be interested in your comments good or bad please!

A nice piece of HDR photography, which for me ticks all the right boxes. If I were to make a criticism, it would be on the length of exposure, a little to long for my liking, and a tad over to murky looking.

It is what it is, nicely composed, and the effect is not over the top. As I said before, it works well, but only on occasion.

HDR. Love it or hate it. I am a little 50/50.
All this software out there allowing you to manipulate your images in certain ways to produce works of art. In some cases turning photos from photos into an image that looks like a painting. Albeit good processing, but wouldnt it be cheaper to buy some watercolours, Canvas and paintbrushes??
Having said this Mark i do like your image for its surreal quality alone. So you get my vote Smile

I went through the same sort of thought process at one time that is expressed by lostnspace2011. He has expressed himself carefully and articulately.

However, I have come to the conclusion that there is no reason for us to limit our imaginations to produce something that shows all of us the world in a different light. And there is no reason to limit our choice of tools. And there is no reason an artist can't do both -- use the Nik filters and also get involved with watercolors and canvas.

Sorry to use your portfolio for my personal stream of consciousness. I love your work -- and especially like this image here.

Well I don't mind experimental processing. It is like marmite... I don't often upload anything like this but I have a play and it is much better than any computer game Smile Filterforge is my favourite addiction ( a fraction of what you pay for Nik)

My only nag is the exposure... I like sea to look like water. But you know that, and tastes differ.

It is a mistyness that kind of 'grabs you' Mark
and the very muted colours have given more interest
but unsure here of the colours on the hillside
Keep going back..and not able to decide
so on the fence here
