Swaledale Barns

By geffers7
I went to Swaledale with the intention of capturing some moody shots between showers - don't think I quite got that but I've uploaded a colour and a black and white version of a typical stone wall leading to two disused barns. I would welcome feedback on whether the B&W works.
P.S. - I'm not very expert at converting to black and white so any suggestions are welcome.
p.p.s. - should have said that they are not the same shot but taken very close together.

I figured out they wernt one shot as there is a slightly different composition and the skys are different.
I would say the B/w image would work with a little more tweeking, the land and sky contrast ranges are very different in your shot, that said its a great effore and the only way to learn is to do what you like to your images.
It depends on your choice of software as to how you edit the image.

Many thanks Anna - there are quite a lot of those walls in Northern England!

Excellent composition using the wall to take the eye up to the barns. Version 1 for me.

I do think the barns could have played a greater part in the image and cropped a bit of the foreground wall, Swaledale is known for it's barns.
