Sunday's Observer had a recipe for apricot and rosewater ice cream, that's what I am seeing here.
When I first looked at the thumbnail, and indeed the full-size view, I too saw scoops of ice cream in a bowl! 🍨😋 A very lovely set up and presentation, Janet, the lead being my fave 👍

As you say, Janet, they each have their own merits, but for me v1 without the effect is the one I would choose.
