The "steam" from the horse is easier to see in the colour version. And yes, that horse looks terrified it might have to go out again!

Colour for me too and yes about the hard work out, this mount looks stressed and underweight. (nothing to do with the photographer, just sayin). For me, this is an excellent example of storytelling judging by my own impression and those of other posters.

I agree Daryl, with the B&W version one is more drawn to to horses head - no distractions. Color has more atmosphere for some.
