Symbols of shattered dreams - Chernobyl series

The houses in the hamlets around Pripyat are littered with the detritus of abandoned family life .

Some stuff has been looted and removed but some has remained untouched since 1986, like this children's toy waiting forlornly to be played with .

The versions you will see here follow that theme, another toy, the remnants of the children's play school beds, a discarded sheet . I find the lion soft cuddly toy particularly poignant as it gradually disintegrates and is being absorbed into the background.
