Tachnid Fly (Prosina siberita)

By barrywebb
This Tachnid fly was taken a year ago today at a wedding reception that took place in a large garden. A friend approached me and told me he had spotted a few of these unusual looking flies around the base of a large tree. At the end of the reception the flies were still there and I got this shot in nice evening light. The funny thing was it was my wedding reception!!! A great way to start married life. So guys - if you want to get away with stuff like this, marry a photographer! I'd like to thank Gill (gill_f) for a wonderful first year.
