Thank you for your comments on the photo of the small butterfly and the people collecting tea leaves in the tea plantation.

There was a park on the site since 1896 but the Taipei Botanical Garden was established during Japanese rule in 1921. This wonderful garden is the home to a beautiful lotus pond as well as different areas covered with a wide variety of plants and trees. There are squirrels and all sorts of birds living there. It also seems to be the meeting place for many homeless cats fed by some people living nearby.

Sitting on a bench reading a book in the shade of the tall trees is a great way to relax. The garden covers a large area. Itís so peaceful, it is easy to forget that you are actually in a very large city.

I got attracted by some iris growing in the lotus pond.

Hoping youíll enjoy the photos,

Both lovely shots but the lighter background in V2 is very attractive.
