A fine piece of old ironwork, Sarah, and lucky you were able to capture it with the lamp lit. Truly magical! Smile

I can well believe that an entire street illuminated in this fashion would look magical. The odd flake of paint and absent pointing pale into insignificance. A delicious little detail.

This is the significant detail, the 'smaller picture', that hints at so much more just out of sight. It takes me there. Utterly gorgeous, dripping with atmosphere, and I'm getting greener with envy by the minute.

Many thanks to all for your time and kind comments, really appreciated!

Bill & Moira, the whole street isn't lit up but many of the houses do this, some have the old torch sconces on the walls and others have braziers burning by the door steps where you can warm your hands - it was very cold in early October, must be even more so now and wonderful in the square with the Christmas Market!

Moira thank you so much for your UA, it was a lovely surprise and an honour! Smile
