My garden pond has lots of damsels flying around at the moment - including these Large Reds (about 1 inch long!). I like the way we can see the differences between the male (on the right) and female. Smile

I've noticed the new camera really saturates the colours, is it something I'm doing wrong? - I would like to tone it down a bit (in camera, rather then post processing)!!

Great capture here Karen, Me and Ed got a shot the other day down on the Levels of some Blue-tailed Damsels mating, but there were three of them linked up, I'll leave you to work that one out, quite funny to see though Grin

Superb sharp and detailed capture with lovely light of these damselflies. We chose the same species to upload today and in a very similar pose! I prefer yours to mine and I am giving my UA as I realise how difficult this is to achieve, having tried to photograph these and dragonflies all weekend two weeks ago.

A top class macro Karen, the colours, detail and clarity are all sublime. I managed to get a shot with two mating pairs in, sadly one was out of focusSad The bluetailed damsels, common blues and azures were about the only thing we saw in good numbers on our visit to Ham Wall
Fabulous sharp image.

Thank you everyone!

Isn't it strange, I've noticed several people have said there aren't many in their area...............I've never seen so many. When I go for a walk down to the Big Pond there are clouds of blues coming up out of the grass!
