Tanglewood Tales

By Mavis
Quite a few of you thought I should show this one on it's own as apposed to the hidden views in Storm Warning of yesterday . Skydive Mike ,took us back in the evening as it had NEARLY stopped raining to these Dark Hedges. This time we viewed it from the opposite end. It does look dark and mysterious . They even went back for a 3rd time and painted it with light . It meant a 15 minute exposure on a sturdy tripod which I didn't have . So I didn't go on that occasion .

ISO 400 f9 @1/25th 17-40 @ 38mm

Have just printed this mono one and it looks as if I'll have to hang it on the wall Smile

Lovely strong trees with just enough light to show them off. Love the 'rabbit hole' sort of tunnel they make.
very nice Mavis!

I'm glad you've given this one a day in the limelight, it's amazing. Strong lines, enigmatic composition, great atmosphere, good b&w.

I'm really pleased that you have reposted as this is superb, Mavis, really strong, unorthodox composition (hooray!!!) - full of individuality.

Definitely deserves it's own spot. A beautifully composed image, and made more mysterious in mono.

Like the angle Mavis , very mysterious and great in mono, and the color one is great too, still retained that mysterious look.

Two great images Mavis, and I'm happy to see the mono one again. In each of these the trees seem to be creatures that could come alive at any moment. Excellent captures.

Thanks for the PM Mavis, definitely agree, worthy of a solo presentation, both excellent in their own way, the mono for spookiness, but I love the colour shot too!
