"Tanhouse Brae, Culross"

By RonnieAG
Graham {digital_boi} and I had a fine day away together last week (you will already have seen some of his photos) and we visited the village of Culross (pronounced 'cue...ross') in the Kingdom of Fife. This is a view up one of the picturesque village streets, Tanhouse Brae. As you can see we enjoyed a splendid day weatherwise.

Culross was recognised as having many fine historic buildings and the National Trust for Scotland has been involved in their preservation and restoration since the 1930's.

My thanks to all who commented on my last posting Narcissus.

Ronnie.

Fabulous photo, with the sun hitting just the brilliantly colored houses. Dave and I were discussing how important it is to have old buildings and places around - you are so fortunate across the pond to have so much. I told him I've seen houses built in the 1930s declared "historic" here!

Nice to know I'm not the only one about this time of night. Do like your composition with lovely light on the cottages and a gorgous blue sky.

upload time noted POD lovely morning here on the light side today as it was for our wee outing. It is a special village indeed Ronnie, I remember well, how difficult it was for walking on those cobbled streets thank goodness for the cart tracks and as for that dame brae which just got steeper and steeper I had about 5 stops to catch breath. Good light colours and detail in this quaint auld street. Good to see you uploading again

Wonderful cobbled streets and cottages with character - the sunlight has highlighted the colours
and individuality yet they combine as a complete unit.
Glad you had a wonderful day in Culross.
