Tanker aground

By KingArthur
Last Friday night the Islands were hit by a severe Northerly gale with high winds and very rough seas. This bunkering ship caught out in the gale apparently headed for port to take shelter from the very rough seas but unfortunately ran aground in the process, and was tossed up the rocky foreshore battered with 6 meter high waves. Saturday morning presented me with an impressive sight of this ill-fated vessel with beautiful cumulus clouds serving as a pleasant backdrop. Hope you enjoy.

It seems a pity that this lovely image is brought about by the ships misfortune Arthur. Love that sky however.

An important news story as weell as a brilliant B&W photograph. Those clouds do indeed add clout to this fine photo. Hope you can offer follow - up soon. TG
