Tay Railway Bridge, Dundee

By Holmewood
Thank you so much for the votes and comments on my last upload. Special thanks to Fred (Badgerfred), Bill (BillRookery), Jeff (kojack), Mike (Mike_Smith), Debs (frogs123), Malcolm (M_squared), David (Granddad), Carol (canoncarol) and David (chalkhillblue) for your lovely User Awards.

Back from Dundee yesterday and now for something totally different from me. This is the railway bridge across the River Tay at Dundee. The river was so still which evidently only happens one a month. I was really pleased with it but so far outside my comfort zone. Hope you like. The version is mono but not very different.

Have a great afternoon and evening and I will catch up tonight.

A lovely, soft image. I'd say the colour is sufficiently muted not to take anything away in terms of impact and adds a discreet extra dimension, so the lead for me by a short head. Allan

Both are lovely images in their own ways Cathy, I like both in actual fact. Impressive when viewed large, well done.

This is a nice image with that misty atmosphere it gives you a sense of what Scotland can be like. If I have a criticism I think it would improve it if you cropped the bottom of just under the darker area of water this would letter box give it a try?
I would not presume to know better the the author this only my opinion.

Very nicely done,
Very much suited to mono, not just because the colours are muted but of the repeating shapes of the bridge supports. There are stacks of options for mono and I personally would go for more contrast. You can push it more in mono than in colour. How about a crop top and bottom for a panoramic to emphasise the bridge?
Just a couple f thoughts Smile

I love the bridge disappearing into the mist Cathy. Just the little bit of colour in the lead makes this my favourite. Pam
