Tea For One

By chase
I bought this kettle some time ago, it has been converted into a lamp by a very clever chap who does wonderful things with stuff. He makes Robins out of spoons !!
Taken in daylight in my conservatory.
3 frames combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop

I baked the scones, this one was still warm on the plate, of course I ate it, lashings of butter and Cherry jam, yummy !

Thanks for dropping in.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.
Janet xx

Very atmospheric still life, Janet. I thought from the still that it was a Meerkatís head on a plate, but itís a very fruity scone. A scene just right for inviting the vicar 😀

I am imagining you softly singing these words while you set this up and shot it, MJ...

"Iím a little teapot
Short and stout.
Here is my handle,
Here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up
Hear me shout:
Tip me over
And pour me out!"
Can I come round for tea, I'm a vicar Janet. I like cream on my scones. I've always like your technique on your still life pictures.

Nope, wasn't singing Malc, too busy eating warm scones... and... I never sing softly or with my mouth full Wink

Gerry, great to have your UA, thank you.
You can visit any time Gerry, nice warm scones and a cup of tea await Wink I may even splash out on a carton of clotted cream !

Cheers everyone.

How very civilised. Love the little trace of steam. That cake reminds me of my mum's rock cakes, which truly were. Smile

Let's not fall out over pronunciation of 'scone' - it's rude to talk with your mouth full anyway.

I'll bring the clotted cream, and the strawberry jam. (My Dad actually was a vicar...)

Clotted cream import is banned in Canada according to Google so Willie, you will just have to come over here Wink

Oooh love a jammy scone.Smile Great set piece Janet but the light patch under the scone plate tends to draw the eye - for me I think the light in Mod 1 enhances the set up.

Nice set-up, Janet, but yes I agree the scone needs to be brighter as in Willie's mod. I like scones with clotted cream jam too, looking forward to some Cornish style cream teas in April!
James
This is lovely Janet. It is good to see the kettle complete with stand and burner. I have a kettle passed down from my Grandma but the stand is missing.
