Tea plantations in Sri Lanka

By pdunstan_Greymoon
Taken from our hotel, the Heritage Tea Factory, overlooking its own tea plantations and vegetable gardens. Have great admiration for the people working in the fields there as the sun is so intense at that high altitude and that close to the equator.

I really like this pic. The content and the beauty, topography changes, and art of terraced growing is great. The pic though would have been better if you had used aperture setting and stopped it down 2 stops this would bring out the detail and color that is there and hidden behind the brightness. This is a fancy way of saying that the pick is washed out. send me the original and I can work with it, if you would like.

Also I have been noticing that many of the pics submitted are washing out, which indicates to me that people are not using neutralizing filters, or differing gradients of polarizing filters in bright daylight shots. Another practice is as I stated earlier is to shoot in aperture mode and to reset the type of environment setting on the camera to compensate for the sun and light changes. Hope this helps you and others.

The picture looks ok to me. Can you illustrate which areas are washed out Marc? I would like to learn how to spot the washed out areas of a fab shot.
