Tee Pee in the Chee

By keithh
Looking from Chee Dale into Wye Dale at the Great Rocks Junction and the old railway cottages.

I like this in print, though whether it comes over at small size on screen remains to be seen. As to the title?...well I uploaded a straight crop from the image into the then becomes clear.

Mastery of DOF evident as usual. For me though I'm not sure if the small version works as well as the print is likely to - it packs a lot into a small area and I'm not entirely sure where to look. Nick.

Sky is great, but it is a bit crammed full of stuff to look at in the smaller version. Nice big print would work a lot better I guess.

Wish there were some hills round here Sad

paint, paint , paint.......

booking form in hand

There are five types of saleable landscape work, I've always thought -
The Ethereal - very popular about 12 months ago...not at the moment.
The Postcard - big blue skies, pretty colours:always a market.
The Dramatic - popular in general although can be location specific.
The Record Shot - Straight forward out of the box, I was there...libraries love them
and The Where's Wallie - of which this is one, you can pick out several points of interest and show your neighbours the route you walked, plus it has the added bonus of being Editorial:They're always talking about re-opening the rail line, there's a quarry in the shot and it has Library value.

Off for a lie down

ta fo't comments you lot

I like the Where's Wally type :-P
Doesn't look too bad at 1000 pixels... reckon it has to be seen for real though. LOL.

The sky is stunning, I like the tree and the cement works, for me this image works really well plenty of interest and because of the valley I feel it helps the eye to concentrate on the railway cottages and the cement works.
I am not a fan of the mod though I think its been done better many times over and better and it looks like the highlights are a little blown out. Although I am not at home so have no idea how accurate this monitor is.

Great landscape, the eye travels well through the whole scene. Great composition and colors are warm and rich and a gorgeous sky with a bit of blue.

LOL - Literally. Boyd is trying to get me fired at work!

Good description of the categories. I was at a local art show taking up about 4 city blocks square. There were about 10 photographers.... almost all of their shots would fit into the 'postcard' category. One guy did catch some great lightning shots over the GG bridge, which may happen once every 5 years.

I like how you let the clouds spotlight the area you wanted. I was out practising this over the weekend but only had thin patchy coastal fog to use. It is amazing how different the shots are with subtle changes of light.
