Paul and I had a quick sojourn over the border yesterday (sneaked across b4 the border patrols were up!). Had planned a whole day out, but it was a case of too much too soon for MrS Sad so we just had a wander (!) UP Twisleton Scar.

Only took 39 shots (wish that had been steps!) but am raaather pleased with a few of them Smile

This is one. It was a bit like finding the "Elephants' Graveyard" of trees, there were about dozen in the area, some still clinging onto life on the rocks, and quite a few that had lost the fight. Here are two of them, still clinging together (hence the title).

I knew exactly the shot I wanted, thanks Boss for the help with how to achieve it. Hope you all like it (we can't make up our minds if it's too dark or not, may just be the angle of my monitor)

I liked the light, the framing of the new through the old, and the single vapour trail reminding us that we are in the 21st Century Smile

Thanks for taking time out of your weekend to stop by, have a gr8 Sunday, just gonna chill for a while, then it's busy, busy, busy! (may find time to "pop-out" for a few!)

Cheers!

It's an eerie place to be sure but I have never seen it like this Fran. The classic lone tree shot with an alien landscape thrown in for free as well. The light is superb and worth the early start,

Hi Fran. Bet you'd have settled for a trip to Barnsley next week Wink
This shot has a feel of a Salvador Dali painting. Clone in a few depressed souls (bet there's a few of them around this morning) and the odd RED DEVIL and away you go.
Joking aside it's a superb shot. Beautiful lighting!
