Terse Verse Greetings

By LynneJoyce
Christmas means different things to different people. There are some who love it, some who hate it, those who are completely indifferent, those for whom it is completely irrelevant and worst of all, those for whom it is the loneliest of times. I have chosen to upload two verses illustrated with my photographs in the hope that they will strike a chord with many of you, from the Christmas lovers to the Bah Humbug brigade.

They come with sincere good wishes from me and mine, whether it be to enjoy Christmas or simply survive it, and to wish you the best that you wish for yourself in 2014.

Thanks for looking and enjoy reading and viewing these. Voting is disabled as this is a genuine greeting.

Two excellent cards, Lynne, and I go along with your words in V.2, it all seems so hypocritical now. Have a great end of year, whatever you may do, and all the very best for 2014. Carol

Thank you Lynne, I have really enjoyed them. Greetings to you too. Actually I love Christmas not as much as I did when I was a child though.

Two excellent images and, two well written poems - both witty and really enjoyable reading!
I suppose I straddle the fence where Christmas is concerned - the build up's a pain(finding a parking space is the worst bit!!), I love the turkey but hate the bloomin' Boxing Day sales!!
So, I stay in bed(for the sales, that is)!!
Why Britain can't close for two just days a year is absolutely beyond me!!
And, why not working on Boxing Day, for the folks in retail, might get you the sack is dreadful!
I'll stop now!Smile
Enjoy whatever you may be doing over the next week or so, Lynne.
Very best wishes,

Heh heh...I can't imagine many Christmas cards which can top these two, Lynne. Bravo GrinGrin

I'm looking forward to Christmas...and I'm sure you can guess Wink Lunch at my bro's on the 26th then they're coming over here on New Year's Day for a turkey lunch my mum is making. Ooo...and I think my cousin (who's visiting from Hawaii) is taking the parents and I to an Indonesian/Peranakan place for lunch next week. Heee. Who's gonna be a roly-poly then?? Grin

Well written verses with great humour Lynne but perhaps too cynical.
The consumerism is all wrong but where there are children, we relive it for them
and when you go to a school panto or Nativity, it does bring a tear to the eye.
Have a lovely time in your own chosen way.

I have made plenty jokes on here that I am in the bah humbug brigade Lynne.
It is a bit of an exaggeration but I do hate how Xmas has become ''too commercial'' nowadays.
Good words here for whatever camp you may be in !!

Brilliant! Grin Christmas...bah, humbug! Sad Two wonderful presentations here Lynne, love 'em both, really made me chuckle SmileSmile
I must say I don't like the lead-up to Christmas, it all starts far too early, and it's so busy up town when you go shopping, whether it just be for groceries or presents you have to rack your brains for what to buy and that's different to what you bought people last year Sad
But, since I starting going away on holiday for Christmas, I have to say that I do enjoy that bit! SmileSmile

Two brilliant poems Lynne, I agree with your sentiments regarding v2, it's all too commercialised and naff these days. I hope you have a very enjoyable festive season and I look forward to more of your mega uploads and razor sharp wit and insightful comments in the New Year, EdGrin As for your three wise men in poem v1, were Mikbee, DannBrann and Lifesnapper not available then!Tongue
Thanks, Lynne, for the nice Greetings. Wish you," Merry Christmas & Happy & Healthy New Year" - Raja.
