Testing...Testing...

By chase
I dug this lovely old Bakelite radio out, whilst digging I found an Amplion Testmeter hidden away. Complete with instructions, the original perspex lens cover, sellotaped lens, spare knob, and...don't ask... a razor blade, would love to ask why but sadly I am not able to.

They all belonged to my Dad, he was a bit of a hoarder when it came to filling his workshop but I remember the radio working, years ago, whilst he was faffing with stuff. It failed the tester today...Wink

An HDR image, 3 frames combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.
Lit by daylight.

Thanks for dropping by, constructive critique and mods welcome.

This radio comes from a time when things were made to last and could be repaired when they failed to work.
Not sure what test is being carried out, unless its resistance or continuitySmile
Have you dared to plug it in yet?Smile
BTW, your dad wasn't a hoarder, he was a bloke who kept things because they might come in handySmile
I can completely relate to him!Smile

I have told, this morning , that one of our grandsons ( 16 years ) took apart two non working computers, switched some components around and had one of them in good working order in about 10 minutes; bet he could. make your equipment woks given the opportunity---- whatever it is.....

Bakelite was quite a wonderful invention back in the day. I remember many things made from it breaking over time, - teapot handles especially.
