...the light play across the bay here brings all sorts of colours and textures against at times a dull cloudy mountain range. The birds also change depending o the time of day.

Colour quietly playing its part here, and lovely textures on that rocky spit.

Calm with a hint of menace in those lines.

Very true about the menace Moira, the tide runs in the riverbed chanel and can come at a pretty rapid pace if you are not aware.

When I first came here I had to run around an ever larger pool way inland from the sea.

Twice I saw people being surprised by the speed of the incoming tide, a 12yr old girl pointed an escape out to two older women and a child.
They were lucky she was there.

Never turn your back on the sea, it's not like a river.

Textures and colours of course but what I really like is the banding effect, Dougie.

If I didn't know this was Scotland it could be mistaken for anywhere in the Americas. Stunning scenery Dougie.

Beautifully cpmposed, a treat for the eye working your way from bottom to top through those multiple layers, Dougie.
It certainly hits the mark with regard to textures and as you quite rightly say respect the Sea
