Music and fashion notwithstanding 'grunge' means dirt or grime. An apt description of the Thames foreshore in many places. In this case it is also a processing finish (Vintage Grunge) in Photoshop.
Looking across the River Thames from Rotherhithe towards Canary Wharf.
The contrast between grotty old and shiny new is telling.
Not so keen on the presentation, the light edging draws attention away from the subject, the reverse of the way that a dark vignette or burn edges works.

A great comparison between old and new. I think probably the ancient wins on character! Well captured, but not so sure on the frayed edges to the frame, as the white seems to weaken the main colours, but still very acceptable!

I do like a nice bit of grunge Dave, so definitely up my street although I'm not sure about the white framing/vignette.....still a good image though!!
