Did you take Liquorice juice with you on the adventure? Made out of hard black liquorice soaked in water and left in the dark? Why in the dark in an old pop bottle I'll never know! I also had matchboxes with holes and caterpillars turning into chrysalis.

And the occasional sherbet lemon sweet if we were very lucky, Kath. Liquorice was prolific, yes, the woody sticks to chew on as well as as the black and ‘allsorts’ sweets. Those and ‘refreshers’ - a time warp 😃
