That's Long Enough!

By paulbroad
The down trodden male. Been there, done that. Two possibilities here, he's either waiting for a wife who has been a long time, or for a job interview for the post shown in the advertisement on the right of the door. I bet they get a queue when the job is vacant!

Whitby high street while I was waiting for my wife who was in another dress shop!

EOS 7D with 18/250 OS Sigma at about 150mm. OS on. Hand held. Aperture priority f8, 1/400 and ISO400. Cropped, some dodging of shadows and a smart sharpen.

A nice street scene Paul. The job advertisement isn't clear to me, but I like the game with the glances in different directions (the woman, the man and the girl on the advertisement). Nicelly seen and captured!

Excellent capture of of an instantaneous moment. No need for a legend, your shot says it all according to the very definition of Street Photography. The only remark I have concerns the way your photograph is framed. As you can see, the top left quadrant and side still contains unnecessary information, thus an additional crop is necessary (perhaps just below the window). In a way, the problem arises because of the shot's angle. You could perhaps rectify the horizontal line (slightly though because it contributes to the shot's dynamics as it accentuates the person's walk). Regards,
Paul

There is no job vacancy advert. But I thought, if the fitting service job came up, there might be a queue!

Just depends on who needs fitting.
I find the image interesting, I expect it has stock potential. is it ok to have the shops name showing for stock?
I keep looking at the angles and persecutive which look just slightly uncomfortable. Paul above touches on this.
I've done a mod which is different if nothing more,
regards

I find libraries like Alamy will take such shots, labelled as not having signed property or personal releases. Many of the others will only take such images as news items. Depends on what is newsworthy.

It a good moment captured. Most men with wives would be familiar with this. Personally I dont care for the woman walking, would be a better shot if she wasnt there.
