Thatchers Jetty

By chrisrudland
This is my second one from this location in Suffolk. Someone mentioned my last one looked over saturated so here are the details of how I took them.

I used Cokin P Polarizer not turned to polarized though otherwise I would loose reflections, Cokin P 121M and 121L ND Grad Filters together to reduce brightness from the sunise through the mist in the sky.

That's it really the Nikon was set to -3 Cloudy, shot in RAW and sharpening was done on-board camera.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment on my pictures and I hope this answers some of the questions from the previous upload.

Spectacular shot, at the risk if being thick, why is it called "Thatcher..." ?
Mark
chrisrudland 17 156 United Kingdom

mcc28 It's only called that because the area is where the thatchers stored reeds years ago, and the name of the pond is thatchers den.

Just Brilliant! I think the outstanding feature for me is the sunlight on the jetty, just gives it that something extra. Nice range of colours from the sky, grass and reeds.

This is superb chris much stronger than the last one posted. The strong foreground and the way the trees fade into the mist is terrific.
PS Does the polariser have any effect turned like this?

Good grief, Chris - this is just the sort of excellence I've missed over the last few days, and makes me glad I grew up and came back. Simply exceptional.

PS, I'm sorry to hear you were in the path of the storm I mentioned in my recent upload - especially at such a strategic time. I had the same problem with my sensor recently - little grey dots across the viewfinder. I bought some swabs-on-a-stick ("DSLRClean sticks" from www.intemos.com) and with sweat on brow cleaned the CCD myself. Miraculously they seem to have worked.

Thanks Ian for your comment, I may be brave and do it but more worried about my warranty if I wreck the censor.
