The "legendary"

Some time ago, in Italy the Black Woodpecker was a very rare bird, confined in dark forests of old conifers where its acute plaintive call evoked primordial ages.
For about twenty years, some specimens have also been found in lowland woods, as long as there are trunks large enough to accommodate the nest dug with powerful blows of the beak.
