The (solitary) Life of (pumpkin) Pi *

By Ericsamson
Pity the poor pumpkin abandoned in the pine forest by Simple Simon who is looking for the pi man. Set on a pedestal and abandoned by its 2.142 siblings it appears to be stumped. 🥴 Somewhere deep in the enchanted forest is its mortal enemy Mr Pastry. Will our understated, modest, mathematical hero Professor E Quation save the day and restore the True Pi? Or will the squirming squash be squandered for the sake of a square meal or tasteless treat? In the event of it succumbing to defeatism and deflating will it be re-inflated in time? Is this why itís called a pump-kin?
What the hell has Matron put in my Medicated Ovaltine this time? Does absinthe really make the heart grow fonder?

This is a roll over Silly Sunday and Iím not afraid to use it.

Photographed yesterday ... in a pine forest.

With thanks for the very generous responses to yesterdayís upload and to Moira, Bill and Ian for their much appreciated awards.

* With apologies to Yann Martel for taking liberties.

No one wants to know a pumpkin until Halloween.
And then; not until the next one.

Pi was never something I really grasped in Mr. Algy Bra's maths lessons. I mean, what does Pi arse quared mean, for heaven's sake? And if we knew what its meaning was, when and where would we, in later years, say 'thank goodness that clever Mr. A. Bra taught us all bout whatsit quared, otherwise I would never have been able to construct this splendid grand piano!'

Good intro' which I cannot match, so I will concentrate on the abandoned pumpkin! The question is how did it get here, not growing in a pine forest? No mean of propulsion, so somebody must have brought it here. How did it manage to get up on the tree stump? Plenty of questions, but no answers! I give up and leave it to its fate! Call Sherlock Holmes?

Was your pumpkin laughing on the other side of his face Graham? Or was it a grimace?
