The Song of Ice

By almiles
After a couple of days of heavy snowfall there were only animal tracks at the lochside and a cold but beautiful stillness. After an hour there passed a chirruping and fluting of ice moving in the swell of the water which came up the loch and passed me before stillness descended again. It sounded almost like birdsong and was the first time I had heard ti. Skiers drove past rushing for the slopes but for me the best bit of the day was happening right now and I was alone in my contemplation of it.

A lovely place to be Al, both spiritually and geographically. A great shot as well, it really gives a feeling of how cold it must have been, lovely work mate.

Despite the warmth of the colours in the sky, I bet it was freezing cold: a very beautiful image, Alan, again in your standard portrait format, and with interesting detail in the f/g ice.

Beautiful image and a good example of a large area of foreground working well.

Getting very poetic in your old age, Al Grin (it's obviously a 'fine art' thing). Superb colours, horizontal bands, and that sinuous line in the foreground ice leads in very nicely.
