The bear and the crow

By alansnap
Our third day at Todino and this morning we went on a bear viewing trip. I thought that this is an experienced female black bear with three cubs hidden in the trees, but it turned out it was a male. He was effortlessly turning over huge rocks to get food, accompanied all the while by opportunistic crows. Normally he ignored them, but on this occasion he turned to have a look.

I have been in the open with bear around the boulders and no chance of moving quickly to safety. Lucky for me the bear was more civil than I gave him credit for. The crows clearly have more 'guts' than I do. TG
