The Beautician

By lifesnapper
Hi all, and is it me, or is this a loooooooong Week?
Well here's a shot from last Weekend, Saturday night infact, while at a 40th Birthday Party in a local Indian restaurant. This young Lady has Her own business as a Beautician. Caught her by suprise here, and I didn't want to get too close, as I could see Her looking at my bushy eye brows, and could almost feel the wax being ripped off of them Smile ouch!!!
Thank you very much for all your kind comments and votes on my recent uploads, and I hope you like at least one of these three versions of the same picture.
All the best to all,

John Smile

Now how did I guess whose this was?
A good, lively informal portrait. The cropped versions come over slightly better than V2, as you must have realised; not certain whether I prefer the mono or the colour, though - colour, I think, but the mono is very good too.
It's good to know that there's a beautician out there who doesn't rely on thick pancake make-up, and a photographer out there who doesn't go overboard with skin smoothing Smile
Nice one, John.
Regards
Bill

Just looked at your eyebrows on your PF pic, John, and I think you're just going to have to bite the bullet and let her have a go at them Smile V2 for me too.

A very nice shot of a lovely lady but I just feel it is a bit under exposed. I have therefore offered a mod that attempts to correct this.
I do like the colour version in V1 but I think it works equally well in mono.
A great set of portraits.

I'll go with V1 - that surprised ya! The bits of hand and upper arm are just a bit distracting in V2, and I want colour here. Lovely natural healthy skin tones.

Hope you don't mind John but I couldn't resist trying another mod. This time I did an alternative crop based on V2.

Cropping out the hands and exposed arm is definitely a good idea, removing distractions around the frame. The black and white version doesn't really jump out at me, as it doesn't seem to have anything added to it — just the colour taken away. So #1 gets my vote.
