The Bittern Emerges...

By TerryMcK
A Bittern stepping from out of the cover of a reedbed at my local Nature Reserve. Usually an elusive bird but this one didn't seem shy about emerging into the open.

My thanks to those who kindly left V&Cs on my previous picture, "Golden By Name." Special thanks to Michael (Karuma1970) for his valued Award.

I just missed seeing one yesterday. It had gone down into the reedbed just before I arrived, so I'm pleased to see your picture.
