The glow and the perspective on this is quite effective. I also liked the mod you put in. Nice to see you at work. I never dare take shots like this Smile Afraid they'll run me off I guess.

excellent title Smile for which you've produced a very fitting image, just the right touch of sinister

This series is so good, so true. I saw this just upon having heard that one of my favorite Dutch writers, Jan Wolkers, has died today. It's a good series this because it seems to be about life and dead. That's the problem with institutionalized religion: I don't like it, many people of my (our) generation don't, but it is so straight on about what matters most: life and dead. No replacement in sight therefore, not even your melancholic photographic work. Cheers, most visionary people photographer on here. Bert

I'm noticing various random things - the light through the window, and those spots of red light on the left. The angle of the shoulders. The fact that although the face is a soft, shadowed blur the expression seems so intense and so strong.
Love the light in the mod, too.

A good phrase; lots of us would agree with Bert.

This image may seem bleak to some, but I feel it is actually full of hope. Thank you, Ollie.

A fine shot to end a fine series, Ollie. Not a bad shot from Craig as well.

It should stay as it is I think;as part of an essay the concept-approach should not be shadowed by too complex criticism on technical issues.
Well thought.

I find this colour image more appealing than the B&W one linked above. It's the richness and warmth of the red carpet that does it for me. There's also something about what the LB does to stained glass that only comes across in colour IMO.

It's funny but looking at each of these images on their own doesn't do much for me but viewing them as a series they really work well.

Chris

Ollie, I was just thinking there's something about these images that I just can't put my finger on. They are certainly strong as a series, and unlike Chris I like them individally - but I can't say why!

Thanks for the background information Ollie. It makes it clearer what the theme was. The images are a bleak and melancholy interpretation of death. John
