The Boathouse Pond

By mrswoolybill
In the West Wood at Wallington. I flipped horizontally, I think it works better – the version is the original.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Thanks Tony, that's the effect I was aiming at, leaves and reflections merging.

Six and half a dozen I think.

We read from left to right, therefore they say your lead-ins should be the same way, as per your flip. More balanced, now, I think.

Your flipped lead works much better for me Moira, the twigs facing the RHS gives me a view through the frame rather than stopping about a third in.

Thanks folks.
I had seen a log in the water on a previous visit and totally messed up the focus. So I went back and walked right round every pond on the estate, couldn't find the log. This was plan B...

Great painterly capture, I wondered why the lead looked better, when it's the same photo just flipped, now thanks to reading Ian (macs) comment I understand, you are never too old to learn.

One to ponder over here, Moira! Has to be the lead, as the eye follows the twig reaching out of the water, it leads the eye left to right. Doesn't work as well the other way around 😃👍
